The Queen of gorges!
Located at the center of Chania prefecture,Samaria national park is the most famous hiking destination for travellers around the globe.Embraced by high summits of Lefka ori hosts a trully unique biodiversity, from smelly herbs and rocky plants to protected wild animals like kri-kri or Gypaetus barbatus!On your way you will sense more than ever part of mother nature, admiring huge rocky slopes as match as the great river next to you. On the exit is located Agia Roumeli village with traditional tavernas and of course the refreshing sea. Come and live it!












Itinerary
At 6.45 a.m we will meet at your villa or close to your hotel. We need about 1h.45m to approach Omalos plateau
Before we entry the gorge we will stop for breakfast or coffee at a cafe, just 5 km from the entrance.
Around 8.40am we will ready sto start walking. The route is descending in the beginning but fust it gets flat
At 7th km is located the old stonemade village. People use to live there until 1970. There you could take a rest or have a snak from your pack. Usually it takes 3 hours to approach the old settlement
Reaching the village it takes approximately six hours. So around 15h.30 you will be sitting in a taverna close to the sea having your lunch ( not included). At 17h.30 we will get into the boat ( 11 euros plus for boat tickets ) to travel at Sfakia village where our partners will be waiting for us. By bus we will return at your villa/hotel around 20h.30m
