Rappel at Kourtaliotiko Gorge
There is no need to be expert or to have stong muscles to do Canyoning! All you need is the properly gear and professional guides. We provide both of them. Situated just 45 minutes drive from the city of Rethymno the gorge is dominated by a huge waterfall. You will be shown how to use the rope while descending , give you the needed equipment and be aside you in every step you take until you finally be at the crystal clear waters of the river! Before we get outside we will trek for 50 minutes through the river surrounding by an impressive landscape! Join us and and live the experience.
Itinerary
Our meeting point will be either at citys’ marine or at your Hotel -Villa. Our guide will meet you there and together will start a 45 minutes drive.
Above the gorge we will make a short stop for energy snacks or coffee. There you will meet the whole team and get details about the excursion. You will have the chance to ask them questions as also to arrange the back and forth transfer. There you can also leave your car for the rest of the day.
Before we start our rappel we will show to you how to wear your harness properly, fix your helmet, set up your carabiners as also how to use the rope to descend smoothly with less effort.
Being next to you , will approach with safety the anchor points where we have set our ropes. Slowly and with extra guide at the end of rappel you will start descending next to the big waterfall until you finally get into the river swimming for 20 meters until the whole team finish. In the midtime you can try a short jump above the river with great fun!
After rappeling from two different points ,we all together trek inside the rive until we arrive at the exit point, where the rest of our team waiting for us with snacks and of course your dry clothes to change.
In the evening ,after five hours approximately from the moment we start our trip , You could either stop at a nearby taverna for a lunch or drive back at your hotel- villa. It will be a day full of fun and adventure! After few days you will receive from us your photos in your email.

Transfer
On that tour you could follow us by your own car. There is an option to use minivan, with extra charge, for group up to 8 people.
Equipment
We will provide neopren summer suites , rock helmets, harnesses and carabiners and tested high quiality ropes.
