Hike to the top of Creta!
The proud mountain Idi or Psiloritis ,as most now call, the sacred mountain since ancient times, with an altitude of 2456 meters is the highest peak of Crete. (To climb to the Holy Cross there are several ways and on the north side and the south). Since ancient times thousands of pilgrims from around the world came to the top of the mountain sacred to lay their tributes to peak sanctuary. We offer you an amazing hike throw a well mentioned path starting from 1500m altitude ending up to Holly Cross summit with a 360 view and may be a bit of snow ! Best period to visit the mountain is from May to late June and from September to late October.








Itinerary
6.00 am pick up from your hotel.
You will need to have with you a small backpack , long trousers , hat & sunglasses.2 litres of water as on the mountain area there is no water at all. Energy bars , some fruits or nuts is always a good idea!
In about 1.30hour drive we will reach migeros plateau . At 1500m altitude is where our car will be parked. Right immidiately we gain altitude until 2000 meters with great view around.
3 hours later we continues on a nice trail traversing the slopes until we reach the highest summit – Holy Cross at 2456 m altitude. The view from the top is simply amazing seeing the sea and the southern villages below. On the horizon the White Mountains are standing almost at the same altitude!
After a 30 minutes brake at the summit it is time to prepare for the descend.
The descent lasts about 2.30 hours for a small group of people
