The island of Crete, except than famous gorges, is also a land of mountains! Μ. Gigilos, is the most impressive summit of Crete ,offering a truly alpine experience and a unique view of Samaria gorge! 

Our ascent starts from Omalos plateau at 1200m altitude. Instead of going down We entering the stony path and after  1.30 hour of walking it will lead us under a dolomites area in the heart of the mountain. Here, close to a natural spring , Is a place of rest where we could eat something. In about 2.30 hours later we will approach the summit at 2000 meters where you will be able to admire the range of White mountains!  Return from the same way.
