This Itinerary is made for those whose search for a truly walking holiday in a well hidden part of our Country.









Itinerary
Either from Thessaloniki or Athens Airport you will be transfer by minivan or minibus to the capital of Epirus – Ioannina city. Once the base for the Ottoman commander – Ali Pasas , nowadays a student’s city with a charming lake and great history.
We will spend a whole first day around by exploring some it’s secrets visiting the impressive Perama cave covered by stalactites and stalagmites , walking around cities Ottomans fortress and narrow alleys and last but not least taking a boat trip to the charming small island located at the middle of the lake.Don’t miss the chance to enter Ali pasas final place where he captured by the Turkish soldiers for betrayal.
Overnight in a hotel
Today we will share a nice and gentle walk along the Aracthos river. Just an hour away by bus the path moves under a shady forest of oak trees.
During our walk we will admire the amazing vegetation and nice views to the river until we reach after 4 hours the most famous arch bridge of Plaka , constructed in the 17th century. Rafting usually takes place over there and if you wish we could try a ride on its waters.
Lunch and move to Pramanta village on the lower slopes of Stroggoula summit where we will overnight.
Trail length – 13 miles
Today and after our breakfast we will do a very beautiful hike between two traditional villages in the Tzoumerka region , by walking inside a fir tree forest on a clear old path. Starting from an isolated church which we will visit , our walk is heading to Pramanta mountain hut where we will have our stay tonight.
Leaving the hut the path smoothly ascends to the great waterfall of Kefalovriso where don’t miss the chance to wash your head !!! Changing direction we will approach the second hut 40 minutes later where we will stop for lunch before we visit the traditional village – Melissourgos.
Free time before we travel back to our hut – After sunset we are holding a surprise for you!
Hike duration 4 hours / 7 miles approximately.
On day 4th we will start early in the morning by following the amazing path to the summit above the hut. One of the most iconic summits of the region and whole Greece!
It is about a steep ascent with some exposed parts though the path is clear and visible offering amazing views to the area’s mountains , valleys and rivers. Once we step at the summit there are two options. Either we continue for a longer crossing walking 4 hours more or we come down following the same path until we reach the hut. Dinner and Overnight at the hut!
A truly marvelous day between two historical and traditional villages of Epirus region situated at the slopes of the mountains with great landscape views. Here the villager’s houses are constructed completely by stone. Firstly we will do a visit to Kipina monastery , a unique style of Christian religion. Later on we will walk gently up and down reaching the crystal clear river on the lower valley and maybe spend some time for a refreshing swim before we arrive at Syrrako Village for lunch – Free time before we drive back to our guesthouse.
What a Unique day!!!
Start with a short road trip above the village where our coach will drive at the highest asphalt passage of Greece named Baros col. Then our hike starts following the alpine ridge of mount Kakarditsa stands at the 2429m alt. The panoramic view by walking up there is simply indescribable.We will reach Pikrolakos summit in about 3 hours and then we will follow a shortcut which brings us lower at the starting point where the bus will be waiting for us.Back to our village for dinner and last overnight.
